Actor and singer Thembi Seete has received the Best Female Movie Star award she won from the Africa Choice Awards.
The awards celebrate entertainment and TV talent behind and in front of the camera. They took place in Nigeria last month and were hosted by former Real Housewives of Durban cast member Ayanda Ncwane.
On social media, Seete shared that her award arrived earlier in the week and that she felt honoured to have won it.
“My award has finally arrived from Nigeria,” she wrote. “First, I thank God, my family and @africachoiceawards for this recognition; I’m honoured.”
“Guys, thank you so much for your support and for voting,” she continued. “Enkosi (thank you).”
In a video shared by Africa Choice Awards, the Gomora actor said she did not expect the win and was “just so excited” about being nominated.
“Really, honestly, guys, when I got nominated, I didn’t expect to win,” she said. “I was just so excited that I got nominated, and we won.”
She also thanked those who voted and her supporters for “holding my hand”.
“Sometimes it’s even hard to do this thing, guys, but because of your support, I see myself doing it non-stop.”
Seete added that she had not spoken about the award as “it was still flying down”.
“It has finally arrived, and I just want to share this moment with you,” she said. “It’s so beautiful.”
