Kazakhstan Intends to Increase The Export of Pasta and Oils to Tajikistan

Negotiations were held between the leaders of the two countries – Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. They paid close attention to the implementation of the Roadmap, which involves an increase in trade for 2023-2024. KazakhZerno.kz writes about this with reference to the statement of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The governments of the two countries are working to develop trade relations. There is room for development in industrial cooperation; there are plans to implement a number of projects, thanks to which they will achieve growth in the economies of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. There is a place to delve into mechanical engineering and energy.

As a result of the business forum, the parties signed contracts worth $1.8 billion. They are going to develop mutual trade in the agro-industrial complex. At the end of 2022, the trade in agricultural products between the two countries increased by 40% and exceeded $500 million. The indicator is encouraging. Kazakhstan substitutes its flour and wheat for the Tajik market, the export volumes of which they want to immediately increase by 50 thousand tons in 2023. There is everything to increase the export of Kazakh pasta, vegetable oils, milk-based products, and confectionery. In return, Kazakhstan would buy fruits and vegetables in Tajikistan.
