Estonian Intelligence Chief: Ukraine is Close to Great Success at the Front

The actions of the Ukrainian troops during the counter-offensive and signs of complications for the occupying army of the Russian Federation may indicate that Ukraine can count on great success at the front in the near future.

According to European Pravda, this was stated by the head of the intelligence center of the Estonian Defense Forces Margo Grosberg, reports ERR .

Grosberg spoke about the tactics of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to destroy the command posts and logistics centers of the Russian troops with pinpoint strikes, about the successes in the areas near Bakhmut, as well as about the data on the possible depletion of the reserves of the Russian Federation.

“All this suggests that the Ukrainians are close to great success,” he said.

According to him, the preparatory offensive operations that the Armed Forces are currently conducting are aimed at pinning down Russian units in narrow areas and finding weak spots for a breakthrough. For the same purpose, they attack important transport hubs, logistics points and command centers of the Russian army in the rear.

He also said that Ukrainian units near Bakhmut managed to capture key areas of the area to the north and south of the city, which allows artillery fire on Russian positions in the city.

In addition, the fact that the Russian airborne troops stationed in Bakhmut since the spring are still tied to the city, suffering losses and cannot be transferred to another place or withdrawn to the reserve, has a big impact.

Grosberg added that in the area of Zaporozhye and Velyka Novoselivka, Ukrainian units have increased the occupied area and are destroying key Russian facilities in this area with pinpoint strikes. He drew particular attention to the attack on a hotel in Berdyansk, which killed the deputy commander of the Southern Military District, Russian Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov, this week.

Grosberg also drew attention to the dismissal of Russian General Ivan Popov, allegedly because of his criticism of the General Staff and the leakage of records about the situation of the 58th army under his command.

“All this suggests that the reserves of the Russian Federation are exhausted, since the units are not rotated,” Grosberg stated.

Earlier in the Pentagon, commenting on the not too fast pace of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, they said that advancement is given at the cost of huge efforts .
